What are your job responsibilities?
My responsibilities include scheduling, purchasing and inventory for our Kay Dee manufacturing facility in Sioux City, and the coordination of our national sales and marketing efforts for Kay Dee livestock supplements.

I have been able to learn about an entire new industry and how important it is to the rest of the country and the world. Before coming to Kay Dee, I was focused only on scheduling and purchasing; now I have an understanding of the complete manufacturing cycle. What are your job responsibilities?
I mainly work with sales in the PureGrade Liquid Fertilizer division:
One important phase of our PureGrade marketing plan is to exhibit at approximately 45 farm shows each year throughout the United States. I am responsible for reserving and organizing booth space at each event. I do other duties throughout the company, helping where I am needed.
What impact has your employment at Nutra-Flo had on your personal and professional development?
A variety of different tasks have exposed me to many learning experiences. Because of the trust my supervisors have shown in me, I feel more confident in my personal and professional life. I have met some great people and friendships have grown with many of them.

What activities do you enjoy away from work?
I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, and watching Musketeers hockey. I also enjoy the challenge of gardening, quilting and yes, I love to Shop-Vac my garage!

- working directly with dealer customers - answering questions, taking orders or supplying them with marketing materials,

I developed and currently run the central maintenance database (MP2) for Nutra-Flo’s manufacturing facilities. I design and construct new processes & equipment, keep the plants clean and organized, and work with different plant production processes.
What impact has your employment at Nutra-Flo had on your personal and professional development?
My skill managing employees at multiple plants with different backgrounds has improved, as well as, my working relationships with outside contractors. I have enjoyed the challenge of managing several large scale projects at one time. I have furthered my knowledge of computer programs and have learned to delegate work instead of trying to do everything myself.

I began my employment at Nutra-Flo unloading and loading trucks. I have since gained the experience and knowledge needed to advance to my current position where I enjoy the challenge and responsibility of being part of a manufacturing team that produces millions of gallons of fertilizer and thousands of tons of livestock nutrients every year.

As global marketing manager, I serve as a liaison between Nutra-Flo and all of our international distributors, providing each of them with technical and marketing support, as well as closely watching over the business between all external parties. This position requires a good deal of international and domestic travel, but I'm an essential link between Nutra-Flo and our distributors. I also spend a good portion of my time developing new business opportunities and coordinating strategic plans.
What impact has your employment at Nutra-Flo had on your personal and professional development?
I've been fortunate to have a number of developmental opportunities over the past 7 years. The number one highlight was Nutra-Flo sponsoring me to participate in a two-year executive MBA program offered through the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University. The program, called the International Masters in Management (IMM), was a mix between on-line work and two-week sessions in the classroom, which rotated from place to place. Classes were conducted in the Netherlands, Germany, Hungary, China, Belgium, and of course the United States. This was a huge opportunity for me to grow both professionally and personally. The program fit into my busy schedule, which can sometimes be difficult when you span several time zones.
How does Nutra-Flo distinguish itself from other employers?
I think Nutra-Flo does a nice job of separating itself from others by using a unique model for employment. Top management is very open to new ideas and rewards those who can think on their feet and are willing to work hard to make a difference for the company.
